  • Reduced risk of costly and unexpected repairs

A well maintained air conditioning unit provides comfort for your business and home when the weather turns warm and humid. A unit in poor repair or one which has not been serviced recently will not provide the level of comfort required by your family or employees. Not only can this cause significant discomfort, there is also the chance of lower productivity levels among staff.

We specialize in installing American Standard and Bryant air conditioning systems. However, we are happy to service and maintain most major brands including Carrier, Trane , Lennox, York, Rheem , Ruud, Comfortmaker, Janitrol and Heil.

Lower Utility Bills

A serviced air-conditioner is more efficient and does not need to work as hard to produce the required amount of cooling. Having it serviced regularly ensures that your unit is able to run more efficiently and use less electricity, saving you money.

Longer Lifespans of AC Units

Keep your air-con unit working at its optimal level of performance with regular servicing. A well maintained unit and one which has any repairs done promptly, will last longer and save you needing to replace your unit prematurely.

Save Money On AC Repairs

Fixing problems as soon as they become apparent helps to prevent further damaged to your units. Problems with air conditioning units often start small and when ignored, they develop into issues requiring more complex and costly repairs.

Keep Your AC Unit Working Effectively

An air-con unit which has repairs done promptly and is serviced often, works very effectively and provides an optimal level of comfort for you and your family.

This will ensure your unit uses less energy and saves you money on your electricity bills, while giving you the peace of mind knowing that it will keep you cool during the heat of summer.

Lower AC Repair Costs

Poorly serviced units lose 5% of their efficiency for every year they are not serviced. As well as costing you more in utilities, you are also more likely to face large repair costs if you do not have your unit serviced often.

Having a maintenance schedule for your air conditioning units allows our professionals to fix the little problems before they become big ones.

Helpful AC Repair Hints

Before you call the pros

How To Save 10% On Cooling Bills:

Here in Northern Virginia, the A/C Unit in your home is designed to maintain about 17 to 20 degree temperature differential (TD) in your home when it is at 95 degrees outside. So, with this said, when we are hitting the 90 plus days with a heat index of 105, your A/C will struggle to maintain a thermostat setting of 70 degrees (the normal setting for you’re A/C is 76-78 degrees). If you turn your thermostat back 7 to 10 degrees a day for approximately 8 to 10 hours, you will save 10% on your cooling bills.

1. No AC:

Check fuses and circuit breakers. If you have a gas furnace you will have a 115 volt single pole breaker to check. The A/C unit or heat pump will have a 240 volt double pole breaker to check. On a gas furnace you will also have an on/off switch that looks like a regular light switch in your mechanical room, make sure that it is in the up position (up is normal for on position). If you have a heat pump air handler, there could be multiple fuses/breakers etc. in your mechanical room. Turn thermostat off while resetting circuit breakers or replacing fuses.

2. No AC:

Indoor fan running no cooling. Is the outdoor fan spinning? If yes, the problem could be the compressor or refrigerant problem. Easy way to check the refrigerant is to just touch the copper lines that are connected to your A/C unit outside. The little line 3/8 copper is the liquid line that should be warm to hot to the touch while the vapor line larger pipe usually 3/4 - 7/8 copper and has a black insulation on it. If you follow that pipe to where you can actually touch the pipe, it should be cold and sweaty. If not, go to the next step.

Capacitor:

The capacitor is used to start the fan motor and compressor on the AC Unit. If the Capacitor fails, one or both may not start. Unless you are standing at the A/C Unit when it tries to start, you would not know of an issue. Normally if you are standing there you will hear a loud humming noise and after maybe 10 – 20 seconds it will go away. This is the safety devices imbedded into the motor windings so if the capacitor has failed, the motor or motors will draw lock rotor amperage (LRA) and over heat and before the windings in the motor over heat this device will open. However, you are normally not home or outside standing next to your AC/Heat Pump when this happens so the system will over heat and shut down then when the winding in the motor cool down the thermal overload will reset and let the compressor and fan motor try to start again.
That is why it is very important to turn OFF you’re A/C Heat Pump System if it is not cooling.
